Back to the office after COVID-19

Over the past few weeks, employees all over the world had to adapt to working from home. Offices that used to be crowded and buzzing are now empty. Although we can’t wait to get back, this period shows how adaptive we all are. Employees have built great home offices, meetings switched to video calls and online brainstorm tools became the new normal. We are far more flexible than we ever imagined to be. This means that as soon as we return to the office, working life will change.

The value of being in the office

Although video meetings and phone calls can be functional, they are not a replacement for the effective collaboration, ad-hoc meetings and spontaneous coffee talks in the office. It is impossible to accurately describe what is missing, but in the office, people feel part of a team, they are inspired and celebrate working towards the same goals. The office is a magical place where great things happen.

It gives me tremendous energy to see how the Mapiq team together with our customers and partners are sharing ideas and thinking together about COVID-19 solutions. A big thanks for that!

Safely reopening your office

When returning to the office, keeping employees at a safe distance will be a big challenge for organizations. A new strategy for office life after COVID-19 is key. When privacy concerns are properly addressed, smart office technology can play an essential part in safely opening our office doors again. Right now, we are developing new, innovative features to help organizations adapt to this new reality.

Back to the office
When returning to the office, keeping employees at a safe distance will be a big challenge for organizations.

The new social distance feature

Our first new feature provides real-time insights into floor- and workplace occupancy, based on a 1.5-meter social distance algorithm. This feature intelligently uses data to help employees keep distance and find a safe place to work. Management will be provided with the right anonymous information to gradually reopen their offices safely. A feature that provides clarity in times of uncertainty.

This is only the beginning of the helpful range of features our team is developing. We cannot wait to return to the office, and we look forward to helping you when the moment is there. In the meantime, I hope you all stay healthy.
